Delroy

Born 1965, London, UK

Speaks : English, French

Viastaro Male UK

Delroy was born in south London to a Jamaican family. He grew up between two spiritual worlds — his grandmother's Pocomania traditions back in St Catherine, and the Pentecostal church his mother joined in Brixton — and he has spent his adult life listening to what people don't quite say out loud.

A Reading Practice

Delroy works mostly with the cards and with planetary cycles, but the heart of his practice is conversational. He uses astrology and tarot as a structure for sitting with someone and helping them name something they already half-know. Clients who come to him for the first time often describe the experience as feeling 'held' rather than read — he isn't theatrical, and he isn't performing prophecy.

Roots

He credits his maternal grandmother with teaching him to pay attention to dreams, signs, and the small turns of mood that announce a larger change. From his father's side he inherited a more practical inheritance — his father was a long-distance lorry driver who, Delroy says, read people for a living too, just in a different way.

Style

His readings are slow, warm, and unhurried. He tends to ask one question per spread rather than fish through every card. Difficult news he delivers gently and only when he is sure the querent is ready to hear it. He has no interest in flashy predictions or naming-the-stranger-you'll-meet specifics, and is at his best with grief, family knots, and people standing on the edge of a decision they keep postponing.

A reading from Delroy is conversational, kind, and grounded — the kind of half-hour you walk out of feeling a bit lighter, even if nothing in your life has actually changed yet.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads across a table, not from a stage — Sun in Pisces in the 7th House makes the reading a dialogue; querents wanting a performance may find them conversational, while those wanting to be heard settle quickly.
  • Tuned to what isn't being said — Sun and Venus in Pisces in the 7th House gives strong attunement to a querent's unspoken state; excellent with grief and family knots, but they can carry a client's heaviness home.
  • Warm but direct — Mercury in Aries in the 8th House takes them straight to the taboo subject; timing is the care point, because the blunt question can land early.
  • Unhurried pace, generous with time — Moon in Libra in the 2nd House with Saturn in Pisces in the 6th House favours slow, thorough readings; they may over-give rather than hold a firm edge on fees and endings.
  • Word of mouth is the real channel — Venus exalted in Pisces in the 7th House, linked to Jupiter, means referrals and long relationships carry the work; they read best for people who return.
  • Boundaries are the ongoing work — Chiron in the 7th House with Venus in Pisces inclines them to over-identify with a querent's story; a clear frame and a set ending protect both sides.
  • Holds two opposing truths at once — a Full Moon chart with the Sun parallel the Moon lets them see both sides of any quarrel; the cost is being slow to say which side weighs more.
  • Depth through patient, unseen work — Mars retrograde in Virgo in the 12th House conjunct Pluto means their strength is in long, behind-the-scenes engagement; best with querents who go deeper rather than wanting quick answers.
  • Precise, unvarnished language — Mercury in Aries with Virgo placements gives plain, exact wording; they name the thing rather than dressing it up, which suits people who want clarity and unsettles those wanting comfort.
  • At home with the uncharted — Uranus in Virgo in the 12th House on the Midheaven, with Pisces' ruler Neptune colouring the chart, suits unconventional methods and sudden shifts in how they work; querents wanting fixed rules may find them too fluid.

Maisie

Viastaro Female UK

Maisie was born in Reigate, Surrey, and has lived most of her life within twenty miles of where she was raised. She took up reading after a long career as a midwife — forty-one years of catching babies and sitting with women through some of the hardest hours of their lives.

Listen to the introduction

Practice

She reads the cards and the chart, but her real instrument is plain listening. Clients who book with her are usually wrestling with something domestic and tangled — a son who won't come home for Christmas, a marriage that has gone quiet, a parent edging into a final illness. Maisie's readings unpick those knots gently. She doesn't predict; she clarifies.

Background

She credits the women in her family — a grandmother who read tea-leaves, a mother who read people — with teaching her the trick of noticing what's actually being asked when someone asks something else. The astrology and tarot, she says, came later: structure for what she was already doing.

Style

Maisie is dry, undemonstrative and a little funny. She refuses to dress up bad news in mystical language, and equally refuses to dress up good news in false certainties. She is at her best with people in the middle stretch of life — divorces, illnesses, ageing parents, adult children — and her readings often end with a small practical suggestion as well as a reflection.

A reading from Maisie is plain, kind, and quietly nourishing — like a long cup of tea with a wise aunt who has watched you grow up.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Plain, tested delivery — Sun in Taurus means they say only what they can stand behind; querents wanting drama will find them flat, those wanting ground will trust them.
  • Notices the unspoken question — Moon in Virgo as the lead light makes them read the room before the chart; they pick up the question behind the question quickly and without fuss.
  • Precise but slow to commit to a statement — Mercury in Taurus opposite Saturn makes them careful with words; they may understate, and can be nudged to say the plain thing out loud.
  • Holds steady under a heavy reading — Pluto squaring Mercury and Saturn gives great staying power with difficult material; they do not flinch and do not dramatise.
  • Warmth delivered directly — Venus in Aries in the second house means affection and honesty arrive together; querents will know exactly what the reader thinks.
  • Reads through conversation — Mars in Gemini in the fifth house works by talking it through and offering options; expect questions, tangents and play rather than one rigid line.
  • Opportunity-oriented, never fatalistic — Jupiter exalted in Cancer conjunct Uranus in the seventh house frames readings around openings and other people; the reader names the door, not the verdict.
  • Calm exterior, active mind — Mars at an awkward angle to a Capricorn Ascendant means the composure is real but the thinking is fast; ask for the reasoning if you want it.
  • Authoritative on long arcs — Saturn retrograde in Scorpio on the Midheaven gives weight to career, duty and hidden matters; they are strongest on slow, serious life passages.
  • Best for transitions and hard truths — Capricorn rising with Saturn high suits people at a birth, a death, an ending or a quiet marriage; those seeking flattery will be disappointed.

Marcus

Born 1972, Pittsburgh, USA

Speaks : English, French

Viastaro Male USA

Marcus was born in Pittsburgh and now lives outside Baltimore. He came to astrology and tarot late, after a first career as a clinical social worker, and his readings reflect that earlier training as much as anything mystical.

Read full profile & readingsShow less
Listen to the introduction

Practice

Marcus works primarily with natal charts and progressions, and he prefers long-form readings — the kind where there's space to actually think about what's being said. Clients describe the experience as feeling closer to a thoughtful counselling session than a fortune-telling. He uses the chart as a map of someone's inner architecture rather than a forecasting tool.

Background

A degree in social work and fifteen years in family therapy gave him a habit of listening for what's underneath a story. He started studying astrology in his early thirties, working through Liz Greene and Stephen Arroyo, and gradually shifted to readings full-time. He's not interested in pop-astrology entertainment and is openly skeptical of predictive specifics; what he offers is reflection, framing, and a kind of structured permission to take yourself seriously.

Style

Readings with Marcus are warm but unhurried. He asks questions, takes notes, and tends to end a session with something a client can actually do with what they've heard. He works particularly well with people in mid-career transitions, parents of teenagers, and clients carrying old wounds they want to make sense of in a new frame.

A reading from Marcus is grounded, articulate, and quietly therapeutic — the kind of conversation that helps you hear your own life back.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Craft-first reading style — Sun in Libra in the 6th House, in its fall; they treat a reading as careful, ordinary work and focus on daily life rather than dramatic pronouncements.
  • Steady, unflappable presence — Moon exalted in Taurus in the 12th House, the chart's strongest planet; querents get calm continuity and room for unspoken material.
  • Hears what sits under the story — Mercury in Scorpio in the 6th House parallel Neptune; strong at diagnosis and subtext, though tiredness blurs their grasp of detail.
  • Reads through dialogue and collaboration — western-hemisphere emphasis with the 7th-house ruler in the 8th; they think best in conversation and want the querent's own words in the room.
  • Gentle delivery of hard truths — Mars in Libra in the 5th House opposite Chiron; they will name the difficult thing, then slow down and check that it landed.
  • Warmth as reliability, not display — Venus in Virgo, in its fall, square Saturn; care shows up as preparation and steadiness rather than performance, which some read as reserve.
  • Self-critical about accuracy — Saturn retrograde in Gemini in the 1st House; they hold themselves to a harsher standard than any client would, so pacing and rest improve the reading.
  • Avoids prediction — Jupiter in Capricorn, in its fall, out of bounds, in the 8th House; they favour patience and development over dates and certainties.
  • Grounded in systems thinking — Moon at the apex of a Yod with the Sun opposite, alongside Sun and Mercury in the 6th House; they notice patterns and processes, and may under-report their own feelings.
  • Suited to deep, private material — 12th-house Moon and 8th-house Jupiter; they work well with grief, old wounds and family secrets, and poorly with audiences wanting entertainment.

Niamh

Born 1976, Galway, Ireland

Speaks : English, French

Viastaro Female Ireland

Niamh grew up in a small village outside Galway on the west coast of Ireland and still spends part of every year there. She came to readings through a long lineage of women in her family who 'had the way of it' — though she's careful to say she's no traditional seer, just someone who pays close attention.

Read full profile & readingsShow less
Listen to the introduction

Practice

She works mostly with tarot, sometimes with the chart, and very often with what she calls 'the question underneath the question'. Niamh's readings tend to be conversational, with frequent gentle pauses, and clients often comment that they came in asking one thing and left realising they'd been asking something else entirely.

Background

Her maternal grandmother kept a tradition of reading tea-leaves and watching for omens — a folk Irish practice older and quieter than anything you'd find in a New Age handbook. Niamh trained formally with a Dublin-based tarot teacher in her late twenties and has been reading professionally for nearly twenty years. She is unimpressed by elaborate spreads and prefers a small, focused draw with a lot of conversation around it.

Style

Niamh is warm, funny, and notably grounded. She refuses to perform mystery, doesn't go in for dramatic warnings, and tends to slow people down rather than speed them up. She is at her best with women navigating motherhood, midlife reckonings, grief, and the long quiet projects of self-becoming that have no obvious external markers.

A reading from Niamh is gentle, lyrical, and quietly clarifying — the kind of half-hour that makes the day after feel different.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Translates rather than performs — Mercury in Aquarius in the 10th House, sextile Neptune, makes her a clear public explainer of subtle material; querents get plain language, not theatre.
  • Reads the room before the cards — Sun and Moon in the 11th House means she tunes into group and interpersonal atmosphere first; she notices what a querent is carrying before they say it.
  • Feels the unspoken question — Sun and Moon in Pisces gives an intuitive, absorbing read of emotional undercurrents; strong for grief and midlife reckonings, but she can take on a querent's mood.
  • Holds space without gripping — Venus in Aquarius in the 10th House wants equality and breathing room; she hands the reading over rather than pressing it, and cools at possessiveness.
  • Tells hard truths gently, then waits — Saturn retrograde in Cancer in the 4th House gives an instinct for duty and old family patterns; she names difficult things kindly and allows silence.
  • Practical about money and worth — Mars in Gemini in the 2nd House makes value and payment loaded subjects; she should state fees and terms clearly up front for her own steadiness.
  • Unorthodox method, needs a frame — Mars out of bounds gives inventive, rule-breaking technique; it works best when anchored to one clear question rather than many.
  • Works best in ordinary settings — North Node in Scorpio in the 6th House, with Pluto and Uranus, favours depth work in daily, unglamorous surroundings rather than big public stages.
  • Times things by instinct, not by calendar — A Balsamic Moon gives a feel for what is coming before it arrives; she may sense an ending before the querent does.
  • Divided between home and public life — Saturn opposite the Midheaven means private life and public work compete; sessions and scheduling are best planned around both rather than one yielding.

Ruby

Born 1985, Newcastle, Australia

Speaks : English, French

Viastaro Female Australia

Ruby was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, grew up in the suburbs west of Brisbane, and now reads from a converted cottage on the New South Wales mid-north coast. Her route into the work was sideways — she trained as a nurse, did a decade in palliative care, and started reading the cards for friends in her thirties before turning it into her main work.

Read full profile & readingsShow less
Listen to the introduction

Practice

Ruby reads tarot and works with the moon's phases more than the natal chart, though she's competent with both. Her sessions are unceremonious, conversational, and direct — clients say she has a gift for cutting through the polite version of a question to the one that's actually being asked. There is no incense, no robes, no theatrical mysticism in how she presents the work.

Background

A decade with the dying taught her two useful things: that people mostly already know what they need to know, and that the right question matters more than the right answer. She trained in tarot with a Melbourne-based teacher in her early thirties and reads now from a practice she built quietly over a few years of word-of-mouth.

Style

Readings with Ruby are brisk, warm, and unsentimental. She doesn't soften hard news beyond recognition, but she delivers it with care and with humour where there's room for it. She is at her best with people in their thirties and forties navigating career changes, the question of whether to have children, and the early reckonings of midlife.

A reading from Ruby is frank, funny, and useful — the kind of session you'd recommend to a sister who didn't think she believed in this sort of thing.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Unsplit attention in the room — Sun in Aries in the 7th House gives full, focused presence with a single querent; can lose their own thread if they absorb the client's story too completely.
  • Direct, unembellished delivery — Sun and Mercury in Aries mean they say it straight and early; querents wanting cushioning may find them blunt, while those wanting clarity will trust them.
  • Thinks before landing the read — Mercury retrograde in Aries in the 7th House means they turn a reading over internally before delivering it; not the reader for instant hot takes, but reliable on considered judgement.
  • Needs a settled setting to hold space — Moon in Capricorn in the 4th House requires order at home and fixed hours; a disrupted private life shows up in the quality of their sessions.
  • Teaches the mechanics, not just the verdict — Disseminating Moon phase means they explain how conclusions were reached; leaves querents with tools rather than dependence.
  • Unshockable with hard material — Mars in Taurus in the 8th House gives steadiness with grief, death, money and crisis; they hold difficult subjects calmly and without drama.
  • Can understate their own authority — Saturn retrograde in Scorpio in the 3rd House creates self-doubt about speaking; they may soften or second-guess a correct read and benefit from trusting it.
  • Deep empathic range, needs boundaries — Moon out of bounds gives an unusually strong capacity for feeling with a querent; without clear limits they carry sessions home.
  • Builds by word of mouth — Jupiter in Aquarius in the 6th House brings opportunity through steady practice and service rather than self-promotion; growth is slow, cumulative and durable.
  • Complicated relationship with fees — Pluto in Scorpio in the 2nd House can lead to undercharging or tying self-worth to income; charging clearly and consistently protects the work.

A Reading with Sienna

Sienna's readings are short, bright and practical. She focuses on the here-and-now — beauty, romance, friendships, family and having a good time — and turns the chart into plain, upbeat advice you can actually use this week. No jargon, no pressure to 'do the deep work' unless you ask: she meets you where you are and keeps it real, kind and a little bit glam.

Who She's For

Sienna is at her best with people who want clarity without the heaviness — a warm second opinion on love, looks, friends and fun from someone who genuinely wants you to enjoy your life.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Warm, people-first readings — Sun, Moon, Mars and Jupiter in the Cancer stellium make them naturally attuned to the querent's comfort; they'll read the room before they read the chart.
  • Gifted at social and community questions — the eleventh-house emphasis means friendships, group dynamics and "who should I trust" questions are their strongest ground.
  • Uses words as the main tool — Mercury in Cancer in the tenth house, ruling the chart, means they explain charts in plain, story-shaped language rather than technical shorthand.
  • Might miss the practical instruction — with very little Earth in the chart, readings can stay lovely and conceptual; querents wanting a concrete next step may need to ask for one.
  • Gentle on love, possibly vague — Venus in Virgo in its fall in the twelfth house gives real tenderness about romance but a tendency to understate; they may soft-pedal hard truths about relationships.
  • Avoids conflict in the reading — Mars in Cancer in its fall can make them reluctant to say the uncomfortable thing; querents in genuinely difficult situations should ask directly.
  • Slow to make a call, then decisive — Saturn in Gemini in the tenth house leading a locomotive chart shape means they build a reputation for reliability and finish what they start.
  • Instinctive, fast openers — this is a New Moon chart, so they tend to launch into a reading with energy and confidence and work out the structure as they go.
  • Unusually good at reading the unsaid — Mercury out of bounds plus Neptune in the fifth gives flashes of insight that go past the chart in front of them; they'll often name something the querent hasn't said.
  • Idealises the romantic story — Neptune in Aquarius in the fifth house can make them lean towards the lovelier version of a love question; useful for encouragement, less so for a clear-eyed view.

Simon's readings are thoughtful, warm, and grounded. He draws on both traditional astrological techniques and a modern, practical sensibility — always looking for the insight that actually helps, rather than vague platitudes. Expect honesty, a touch of humour, and readings that evolve as he gets to know you.

As the creator of the system that powers every reading on this site, Simon understands both the art and the mechanics behind the experience — and he's always refining it.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Technique refined before shared — Saturn in Gemini in the eleventh gives a craftsman's discipline: he tests and refines a method exhaustively (as with his computerised tarot) before offering it to anyone.
  • Instinct for emerging systems — Mercury in domicile trine Uranus reads comfortably across astrology, tarot, runes and software; he integrates tools rather than keeping them in separate boxes, and explains technical matter plainly.
  • Reads by feeling first — the Pisces Moon in the ninth grants genuine intuitive receptivity and a hunger for meaning; his readings lean toward significance and story rather than data dumps.
  • Absorbs the querent's state — the same watery Moon takes on the client's emotional weather; without deliberate grounding between sittings, his readings can drift toward carrying what belongs to the querent.
  • Teacherly delivery — the Sun–Mercury conjunction in its disseminating phase makes him want to hand the querent the working method, not just the answer; readings feel like instruction in self-reading.
  • Gentle, protective tone — Venus retrograde in Cancer keeps affection and reassurance behind the scenes; querents feel cared for rather than performed at, though hard truths may be softened more than they need.
  • Confrontion-averse precision — Mars in the twelfth avoids direct challenge in a sitting; his bluntness arrives better in writing than in the room, and unspoken disagreement can turn into quiet withdrawal.
  • Probing beneath surfaces — Pluto in the third asks the uncomfortable follow-up question and names the pattern the querent is dancing around; readings can go deeper than expected, sometimes past the line into therapy territory.
  • Imaginative symbolism — Neptune in the fifth gives vivid symbolic storytelling and openness to synchronicity; readings feel enchanted and meaning-rich, with a risk of idealising outcomes for the querent.
  • Reframes rather than predicts — his Last Quarter lunation orients him toward helping querents release outgrown frames and old stories; he is stronger at facilitating turning points than at promising fixed futures.

Tasha was born and raised in Brooklyn, the daughter of a school teacher and a community organiser, and she still lives in the city. She came to readings through a long detour — a degree in social work, six years working in juvenile diversion programs, and a quiet personal practice of tarot that she kept private for most of her twenties.

Read full profile & readingsShow less
Listen to the introduction

Practice

Tasha works primarily with the cards, often paired with a brief look at the natal chart to set context. Her sessions are direct, warm, and grounded. Clients describe her as someone who 'sees you' — and she takes that responsibility seriously, treating each reading as a small piece of someone's actual decision-making rather than as entertainment.

Background

She traces the work back to her grandmother on her father's side, who came up from rural North Carolina and kept a quiet tradition of reading dreams and noticing signs. Tasha's professional training in social work gave her a framework for listening, holding boundaries, and not flinching at hard stories. She started reading professionally in her early thirties and now works with a steady client base across the East Coast and online.

Style

Readings with Tasha are conversational, soulful, and unflinching. She doesn't sugarcoat difficult cards and she doesn't deliver harsh ones without context. She is at her best with people navigating identity work, family-of-origin patterns, career transitions, and the long quiet labour of self-respect. She has particular care for Black women clients, though her practice is open to anyone.

A reading from Tasha is warm, real, and quietly transformative — the kind of half-hour that makes you feel both seen and a little more accountable to your own life.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Quiet-room presence — Sun in Cancer in a night chart with planets below the horizon; reads best from stillness and sounds calm because they are not performing.
  • Instinct for the small tell — Moon in Scorpio in its fall; spots the detail in a story that does not add up and holds it back until confirmed.
  • Holds heavy material without rescuing — Moon in Scorpio in its fall; can sit with grief, family history and things left unsaid without dramatising or taking over.
  • Silence as thinking, and interpretation that lands in writing — Mercury in Leo, retrograde, trine Saturn; a commanding voice that needs time, with written follow-up carrying real weight.
  • Care expressed as correction — Venus in Virgo in its fall; names what needs work as an act of love, which may read as bracing to querents seeking only comfort — pair it with what is working.
  • Readings that end in a next step — Mars exalted in Capricorn; favours practical moves over insight, well suited to querents making slow, serious decisions.
  • Conviction over formula — Jupiter in Pisces in its own sign and final ruler; reads from genuine belief rather than a fixed system, and resists steering a session toward a preferred answer.
  • Tested positions only — Saturn in Sagittarius; will not claim a system, lineage or spiritual certainty they have not personally stress-tested.
  • Warm but non-dependent boundaries — Uranus in the 7th House opposing the Ascendant; one-to-one work stays warm without becoming friendship, rescue, or emotional reliance.
  • Insight that must be made into something — Earth minor grand trine with Pluto as its outlet; the reading gains its power when delivered as a summary, plan or recording the querent can return to.

Tom is a Bristol-based reader, born in 1996, who reads the chart and the cards for people with a big call to make: a job, a move, money, a business, a leap they keep putting off. He came to the work after a few years in an office looking after other people's budgets, and he still thinks most money worries are really timing worries.

Much of his approach he learned from Maisie, sitting in on her readings when he was starting out: say the plain thing kindly, and never leave someone guessing what to do next. Tom brings to it a young man's pace and a dry wit that takes the edge off the harder truths. He won't promise a windfall and he won't sit on the fence. He'll show you the brick wall ahead, and the way round it.

He is at his best with people who look fine on paper but feel boxed in, with anyone weighing up an unconventional route, and with the timing of the big decisions: when to push, when to wait, and which obstacles are worth taking seriously.

A reading with Tom is quick, level-headed and practical, like a straight-talking friend who is good with money and wants you to get on with it.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Unhurried, refuses to rush a querent — Sun in Taurus in the 8th-house zone makes them patient and loyal in session; querents who want a verdict in ten minutes may find the pace slow, but those with big decisions will feel held.
  • Notices what's been left out — Moon in Virgo in the hidden part of the chart means they read silences and omissions quickly; helpful for querents who edit their own story.
  • Blunt in a crisis, reliable under pressure — Mars in Aries in its own sign gives quick, direct delivery when something is genuinely urgent; querents should expect speed and plain words when time is short.
  • Comfortable with money and shared stakes — Sun and Mars in the deep-water sector make them strong on financial, legal and joint-resource questions; they will name the cost rather than soften it.
  • Reads as a conversation, not a lecture — Venus in Gemini in the sector of talk and learning means they work best in back-and-forth; querents who ask questions get a sharper reading.
  • Shows consequences, never rules — Saturn in Aries in its fall makes them wary of imposing answers; querents looking for instructions will be handed options and trade-offs instead.
  • Won't sell shortcuts — Jupiter in Capricorn in its fall means they distrust easy promises; querents wanting a windfall forecast or a guaranteed outcome will be disappointed.
  • Steady through heavy material — the Saturn–Pluto trine gives them staying power with long, difficult stories; they can sit with a querent mid-rebuild without flinching.
  • Gains from collaborative readings — the western emphasis of the chart means they read better with input; querents who push back or correct them improve the result.
  • Sets a deadline to force clarity — the see-saw chart shape means they can see both sides too well; they use timing and dates to help querents stop circling and choose.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads for the group, not just the individual — Sun in Capricorn in the 11th House gives them a natural focus on community and networks; querents who see themselves as part of something bigger will feel most at home.
  • Feels what the querent is feeling underneath the words — Moon in Cancer in the 5th House brings emotional attunement and creative warmth; they pick up on unspoken fear or hope and hold it gently.
  • Sees the pattern beneath the pattern — Mercury in Aquarius in the 12th House gives them an intuitive, systems-level mind that notices what the querent hasn't said; their observations often surprise.
  • Shows care through preparation and detail — Venus in Virgo in the 6th House means they love by doing the work thoroughly; they read charts carefully and take pride in precision.
  • Works quietly, delivers clearly — Mars in Aquarius in the 12th House gives them behind-the-scenes drive and unconventional methods; they don't need to perform expertise, they just do the job well.
  • Expands through one-on-one connection — Jupiter in Pisces in the 7th House means they grow through partnership and empathy; they are at their best sitting across from one person, not standing in front of many.
  • Keeps meeting the boundary lesson — Saturn in Pisces in the 7th House asks them to stay open without merging; they are learning to care for querents without carrying their charts home.
  • Gets flashes of insight they can't always explain — Uranus in Aquarius in the 12th House gives sudden intuitive hits; querents may find them uncannily accurate at unexpected moments.
  • Aims for what's real, not what's flashy — Pluto in Sagittarius in the 10th House drives them to reveal deep truths in their public work; they want readings to matter, not just impress.
  • Brings warmth with a plan — Leo Ascendant gives a confident, steady presence; querents feel anchored and motivated, though they may need to ask explicitly for emotional softness rather than strategy.

I’m a Bay Area reader in my late twenties who treats astrology as a practical tool for timing moves and building momentum. I come at it like a coach:

Beyond The Grave

Our Beyond The Grave readers are creative simulations inspired by the lives, beliefs, and documented personalities of real historical figures. Their readings are crafted to reflect how these remarkable individuals might have interpreted the cards or stars, based on what we know about them. These are not genuine communications from the departed — but then again, if there were ever people who might find a way to reach through, it would be this lot.

Aleister Crowley (1875–1947) was a poet, a mountaineer and one of the most learned, and most argumentative, students of astrology and the Tarot of the twentieth century. Educated at Trinity College, Cambridge, he climbed on K2 half a century before anyone reached its summit, wrote a book on astrology for the celebrated New York astrologer Evangeline Adams, and spent five years designing the Thoth Tarot with the artist Lady Frieda Harris, a deck that readers still use and love today.

Crowley believed astrology should be tested, not taken on trust. He kept a tally of his own judgements, poked fun at astrologers who buried a chart under calculations, and trusted its plain testimony: the rising sign, the transits of the day, the close conjunctions. He called fortune-telling an abuse of divination. Its proper use, he wrote, is to guide one's judgment, and any forecast should always be cautious.

A reading with him feels like a letter from a brilliant, mischievous tutor. He shows you his working, teases a little, makes a joke at his own expense, and expects you to check what he says against your own life. He is frank about difficulty, but what really interests him is what you will make of it. The stars may incline; your own will decides.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Digs for the unspoken question — Mercury in Scorpio in the fourth house makes them listen for the second thing a querent did not mean to say; excellent for hidden material, but they can suspect concealment where there is none.
  • Reads from the private room — The fourth-house cluster of Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter means their best work is done alone and out of sight; public performance and private judgement are two different people.
  • Weighs before delivering — Sun in Libra in its fall gives a slow, comparative judgement; querents get considered verdicts rather than snap pronouncements, at the cost of some delay.
  • Treats the reading as a contract — Saturn in its own sign in the seventh house loads the reader–querent bond with duty; honesty and precision are owed, flattery is not, and vagueness will not be tolerated.
  • Meaning over comfort — Moon in Pisces in the ninth house means they cannot work for people who only want their fortune told; they need the real inquiry or they disengage.
  • Endurance for long inquiries — Mars exalted in Capricorn, sextile the Pisces Moon, gives stamina for years-long or multi-session work rather than quick answers.
  • Breaks stiff structures — Pluto at the apex of a T-square with Saturn and Uranus directs them at what has grown rigid; they will name the rotten beam, not admire the wallpaper.
  • Commands the room — Leo on the ascendant gives an authoritative, theatrical presence; strong for holding attention, but shy querents may need them to step back deliberately.
  • Setting shapes the work — Venus in her own sign in the fourth house makes order and beauty at home a working condition; a chaotic setting visibly dulls their reading.
  • Blind spot: the fog — Pisces Moon opening to Neptune means they can absorb a querent's emotion or believe a compelling story, including their own; strong feeling should be weighed as evidence, not acted on at once.

Readings by Aleister are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (1859–1930) was born in Edinburgh and trained there as a doctor under Joseph Bell, whose gift for reading a patient at a glance he gave to Sherlock Holmes. A visitor in 1892 found "a happy, genial, homely man" with a handshake that hurt; he cultivated a simple style, avoided long words, and was amused by the letters that kept arriving for Holmes — one from a lady offering to be his housekeeper.

The First World War changed him. It took his brother Innes and his son Kingsley, "one of the grandest boys in body and soul", he wrote, that a father was ever blessed with. Just before the Somme the army plucked Kingsley out of a trench for him, and father and son had an hour's talk in a field; wounded in that battle, Kingsley was never heard to complain. That grief turned a lifetime's private study of psychic questions into his life's work, and with his wife Jean he travelled some 50,000 miles to speak with people face to face.

He sees the joke in reading charts: this is the man who called fortune-telling "a feeling out in the dark". So he reads one as a doctor reads a case — small observed particulars built patiently into a view, the reasons always shown — and asks you to test it against your own life. Hard news comes frankly, with hope and a practical next step.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Case-by-case method — Mercury in Taurus in the 12th House makes him gather evidence and show the reasoning; conclusions arrive after the working, never before it.
  • Plain, unhurried speech — Saturn in the 3rd House gives simple words and short sentences; querents wanting drama or mystery may find him plainer than expected.
  • Frank with hard news, never fatalistic — Sun conjunct Mars in the 12th House delivers difficult material directly, but always as weather to be worked with rather than a verdict handed down.
  • Reads the unspoken room — Sun in the 12th House draws him to what a querent has not said; he is well suited to secrets, shame and grief.
  • Genial front door — Venus and Jupiter in the 1st House make him warm, hospitable and easy company; querents relax, and may underestimate the rigour beneath.
  • Argues with the story — Mars conjunct Sun in Gemini means he will test a querent's account rather than simply accept it; useful for false claims, potentially combative for the sensitive.
  • Teacher's instinct — Disseminating Moon in the 9th House wants the querent to leave with something usable; he can over-explain when a short answer would serve.
  • Sympathetic to belief, resistant to credulity — Neptune in the 11th House alongside Mercury's demand for proof lets him understand a cause or conviction without buying all of it.
  • Under-reports his own flashes — Mercury in Taurus distrusts the promptings of Uranus conjunct the Sun; he may leave his best intuitions out of the reading.
  • Suited to long work — Pluto in Taurus in the 12th House gives patience with slow processes and long grief; he is better with ongoing querents than with quick turnaround.

Readings by Arthur are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Speaks : English, French

Psychic Male UK

Derek Acorah (1950–2020) was a Bootle lad with a football career behind him before he ever stood on a stage. Bill Shankly signed him for Liverpool as a boy — which tickled his dad, an Everton man, who ended up drinking tea in the boardroom — and he played on at Wrexham, Glentoran and Stockport, then in Australia, until injury finished it. He grew up in his granny's house, and she was a medium before him; he was not quite seven when he first saw his late grandfather.

He came home to the work: the platform, then television and theatres up and down the country, always crediting Sam, his guide. He had no time for the gloomy, morbid style of the old mediums. He wanted people to go home happy and buoyant, and called his evenings a spiritual party.

A reading with Derek is warm, chatty and courteous — "please" and "lovely" on everything, one small point at a time, with a check that it makes sense to you. He goes straight to everyday things: the house, the job, the friend you fell out with, and he steers towards the kind, practical thing — mend the quarrel, stick to your guns. What he offers is guidance, not prediction: you can take it or use your own. Health questions, he'd tell you, are for the doctors.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads for the many, not the few — Sun in Aquarius inclines them towards group and public settings; one-to-one private counsel suits them less than an audience, a room, or a shared purpose.
  • Unhurried, homely delivery — Moon in Taurus gives a settled, kitchen-table manner; querents feel calmed, though they may linger on a point longer than needed.
  • Plain language, no flannel — Mercury in Capricorn produces short, practical phrasing and a willingness to say "I don't know"; querents wanting poetry or validation may find it dry.
  • Hands guidance over as suggestion — Mercury in Capricorn at a hard angle to Neptune in Libra can blur the received and the imagined; they should invite querents to verify, and frame statements as inclination rather than fact.
  • Generous and warm with sitters — Venus with Jupiter in Aquarius makes them giving, friendly and inclined to over-extend; they work best with querents who reciprocate engagement.
  • Better with a partner in the room — Mars in Libra means collaborative, slower delivery; they read well alongside a co-host, a guide or an audience, and poorly when rushed into solo decisions.
  • Serious about craft, hard on themselves — Saturn in Virgo brings long training, high standards and post-reading self-criticism; querents get care and accuracy, but the reader may underrate their own work.
  • Comfortable with unconventional routes — Uranus in Cancer suits reading at a distance and through unusual means; routine and rigid formats quickly bore them.
  • Holds up under scrutiny — Pluto in Leo opposite the Sun in Aquarius means they can face sceptics and public argument without crumbling; useful for querents who arrive doubtful.
  • Forward-looking readings — a waxing Moon favours building and momentum; they serve querents in motion better than those wanting to dwell on the past.

Readings by Derek are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Dion

Beyond The Grave

Born 1890, Llandudno, United Kingdom

Speaks : English, French

Occultist Female UK

Dion Fortune (1890–1946) was born Violet Mary Firth in Llandudno, and took her pen-name from her family's motto, Deo non fortuna: by God, not by chance. She came to the unseen by way of the consulting room. She trained in psychoanalysis in London and worked at a clinic in Brunswick Square, and came to see occultism as "the real key to psychology".

She founded the Fraternity of the Inner Light and divided her time between London and Glastonbury, where she kept a house at the foot of the Tor. Her books are still read today: Sane Occultism, Psychic Self-Defence, The Mystical Qabalah and novels such as The Sea Priestess. Those who knew her remembered a keen sense of humour and remarkable presence. She would stand on a platform without a note and simply talk.

She had no patience with fortune-telling. To her a chart showed the tides, so that you could trim your sails rather than drift. The difficult planets were teachers, not enemies, and as she put it, "There is only tendency." A reading with her is clear, brisk and practical. She treats you as a sensible adult, looks for the plain explanation first, names the challenge and what will meet it, and leaves the choice with you. The occult is handled as calmly as the weather.

She suits anyone who wants depth without drama: the Tree of Life and the tarot as maps of the psyche, and common sense to go with them.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads charts as weather, never as verdict — Sun on the South Node in Sagittarius gives her the prophet's voice, which she deliberately turns toward tendency and choice rather than fixed outcomes.
  • Psychological first, occult second — the Sagittarius grouping with strong air makes her diagnose before she explains symbol systems; querents get the plain human reading first.
  • Brisk, clear and impatient of muddle — Mars in Aquarius with air dominance produces cool, decisive delivery and a dry humour that deflates pretension rather than the querent.
  • Explains jargon as she goes — Mercury in Sagittarius in detriment works best in themes and images; she teaches the vocabulary rather than assuming it.
  • Hands the decision back — Saturn in Virgo and Jupiter in Aquarius together favour practical steps over pronouncements; she names the discipline and lets the querent choose.
  • Works from a unified system — Jupiter in Aquarius joins astrology, Tarot and the Tree of Life into one framework rather than treating them as separate arts.
  • Avoids fatalism, dates of death and psychic blame — the South Node in Sagittarius taught her how prophecy paralyses effort; she refuses curses, entities and sealed fates.
  • Keeps her own values and aesthetic private — Venus retrograde means her taste and judgement are held inwardly; she may not show her full reasoning even when she gives a firm line.
  • Long-form teacher and writer — Sun, Mercury and Venus in Sagittarius suit lecturing, writing and extended explanation; short soundbites are not her natural register.
  • Adapts method to the person — strong mutable emphasis lets her change approach mid-reading; querents wanting emotional warmth may need to be told plainly that her steadiness is care.

Readings by Dion are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Psychic Female UK

Doris Stokes (1920–1987) grew up poor in Grantham, a blacksmith's daughter, and became Britain's best-known medium without ever stopping sounding like the woman next door. She walked on stage in a simple frock, sat down in an armchair and chatted, hoping the whole hall would join in. Humility, honesty and humour, she said, were the three principles she lived by. She laughed at herself first — at the people who expected a medium in long dangling earrings — and owned up straight away when something wasn't clear.

Her warmth was hard-won. She and her husband John lost their baby son, John Michael, and that grief took her to the spiritualist church. Later they adopted Terry, and she held off touring until he had grown up. She nursed, worked the church halls for years, and only in 1978, in Australia, did fame find her — then the London Palladium, television and her books.

Those years are experience she carries, not something she performs here. A reading with Doris is a conversation over a cup of tea about your chart or your cards: unhurried with worry or grief, plain about hard things, practical about what can still be done. She would like you to leave lighter than you came.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Fast synthesis, weak on specifics — Mercury in Sagittarius (in detriment) reads the overall shape of a querent's situation instantly but is unreliable on names, dates and figures; querents should supply concrete detail and verify it afterwards.
  • Plain, unadorned delivery — Mercury in Sagittarius with the Sun in Capricorn speaks in ordinary words and avoids mystical dressing; those wanting elaborate theatre will find it bare, while those wanting clarity will trust it.
  • Unhurried sessions and long relationships — Sun in Capricorn gives patience and staying power; readings are steady rather than quick, and querents are kept with over years rather than rushed through.
  • Warm but not clingy — Venus in Sagittarius offers warmth and honesty rather than emotional closeness; flattery is rare, and plain talk from the querent is what the reading needs to work.
  • Softens hard news — Mars in Libra (in detriment) avoids confrontation and de-escalates; querents who want a blunt challenge should ask for it directly, or it may not be said.
  • Performs best when seen — Jupiter in Leo expands through visibility, warmth and humour; the reader works well in public settings and with an engaged querent, and dulls when pushed into the background.
  • Thorough and self-critical — Saturn in Virgo gives rigorous standards and careful preparation, alongside a tendency to overwork and judge her own performance harshly.
  • Sudden accurate intuitions — Uranus delivers flashes of knowing that arrive before reasoning does; these are often correct but should be treated as leads to check, not conclusions to hand over.
  • Mystery without jargon — Neptune in Leo draws on faith, atmosphere and stagecraft, but risks blurring fact with feeling; the reading stays grounded in ordinary, concrete things.
  • Drawn to grief and family work — Pluto in Cancer pulls the reading toward loss, family and belonging; the reader is unafraid of heavy feeling and will not dramatise it, but will go there directly when the querent raises it.

Readings by Doris are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Beyond The Grave

Born 1877, Hopkinsville, United States

Speaks : English, French

Occultist Male USA

Edgar Cayce (1877–1945) was born on a farm near Hopkinsville, Kentucky, left school after the eighth grade and earned his living for years as a photographer. He taught Sunday school for most of his life and read his Bible through once for every year of it. Yet from his twenties until his death he gave thousands of readings, lying on a couch while his wife Gertrude put the questions and his secretary Gladys Davis took down his words in shorthand. Those readings talked a great deal about the planets, calling their influences "merely urges" and insisting that none of them surpasses a person's will, "the birthright of each and every soul".

Awake, he was a tall, slightly stooped, soft-spoken man whom one visitor thought looked like the minister of a quiet country church. He loved fishing and his garden, and he found it hard to turn anyone away. Once, with a bill unpaid, he told Gertrude, "Don't worry about it, Mother," and went fishing.

A reading with Edgar is unhurried and kindly. He reads your chart as the story of where you have been and what you came here to do, treats the planets as leanings to work with, and leaves the deciding to your own ideals and your will. He will talk a thing through until you find the answer yourself.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • A vessel, not an originator — Mercury conjunct the North Node in Pisces in the 7th House: readings flow best when they pass on what arrives rather than straining to invent. Querents get transmission, not theory.
  • Explains by picture — Mercury in detriment in Pisces means they think in images and stories, not chains of logic; suits those wanting meaning, frustrates those wanting proof.
  • Works best one to one — Mercury in the 7th House: the gift sharpens in single conversation; large audiences and busy settings weaken the signal.
  • Warm and merging — Sun in Pisces conjunct Amor in the 8th House: they feel the querent's trouble as their own. Risk of taking on too much; needs recovery time after heavy sessions.
  • Unhurried pace — Moon exalted in Taurus: steady and patient, will not be rushed to an answer. Querents wanting speed may find them slow.
  • Fearless with hard material — Mars exalted in Capricorn in the 5th House: can sit with grief, death and hidden things without flinching; well suited to questions others avoid.
  • Mercy tempers strictness — Saturn in Pisces in the 7th House with a Pisces Sun: hard truths are delivered gently, though sometimes softer than they need to be.
  • Carries the querent's weight — Saturn in Pisces in the 7th House: prone to over-identifying with a client's duty; needs clear limits on what is taken on.
  • Instinct-first readings — born at the New Moon: the shape of a reading arrives before the reasoning; follows a hunch, then checks it against the chart.
  • Grounded in deep water — six earth placements keep practical footing in symbolic work; strong at giving the querent one plain next step rather than a fog of possibility.

Born 1892, Beauparc House, Éire / Ireland

Speaks : English, French

Psychic Female Ireland

Eileen J. Garrett (d. 1970) was born in County Meath in the early 1890s, grew up in the Irish countryside and went to London young. She became one of the best-known mediums of her century, and one of the most sceptical about herself. She never claimed to know what her gift was, and spent decades asking scientists in London and America to find out, welcoming, as she wrote, "the skepticism and detachment of the scientific observers". In New York she founded a publishing house, Creative Age Press, and Tomorrow magazine, and in 1951, with Congresswoman Frances Bolton, the Parapsychology Foundation, which her daughter Eileen later carried on. Her daughter remembered a lively, intellectual, curious woman who loved theatre, books, people, children and animals.

She had a sharp pen for the horoscope trade. In 1950 she wrote that the popular sun-sign books turned everyone into angels, and noted that she, a Pisces, was supposed to lack intuition: "I have been accused of many things during my life, but never of lacking intuition!" Still, she held that astrology had "something genuine to offer", once it was rescued from superstition.

A reading with Eileen is a frank, warm conversation. She reads your chart as the sketch of one distinct person, never a sentence, has no time for doom-laden "bad days", and is curious to hear what you make of it.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Starts from the person, not the system — the Sun in Pisces reads the mood of the querent before the chart; they will sense what's wrong in the room before they see it in the symbols.
  • Reads with unusual backbone — Venus at home in Taurus, Jupiter at home in Pisces and Mars exalted in Capricorn; they will not soften a chart into flattery, and they can hold a hard reading steady.
  • Blunt in delivery, quick to speak — Mercury in Aries rules their Saturn in Virgo; they say the difficult thing early and in plain words, then immediately want to see it verified.
  • Insists on testing — Saturn in Virgo, retrograde and self-critical; they distrust their own flashes of insight and will go looking for evidence before trusting a reading.
  • Argues for the hunch as well as the proof — Mercury in Aries with Saturn in Virgo means they will defend intuition while demanding it be checked; querents wanting pure mysticism will find them unsatisfying.
  • Generous with the whole picture — Jupiter in Pisces as final dispositor gives a wide, philosophical frame; they place a small problem inside a large one, and this can feel both consoling and sobering.
  • Slow to declare an ending — Mars in Capricorn, exalted but contrary to sect; they will not rush a verdict and will resist pressure to predict a fixed outcome.
  • Wary of the trade's nonsense — Venus in Taurus wants substance and Uranus in Scorpio dislikes received authority; they are sceptical of horoscope-book clichés and will say so.
  • Drawn to the buried material — Uranus in Scorpio with Neptune and Pluto in Gemini; they are best with the questions querents are afraid to ask, and they talk about them openly rather than in a hush.
  • Wants the reading to land somewhere real — the North Node in Taurus; they will push a querent toward something practical, and they lose interest in a reading that stays abstract.

Readings by Eileen are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

When he retired to England with his wife Donna he took up the study of witchcraft. His book Witchcraft Today (1954) made him the best-known witch in Britain. He spent his last years on the Isle of Man, showing visitors round his museum of magic and witchcraft.

On film he is unhurried and hard to ruffle. Asked in 1957 whether witches worshipped the devil, he said they had their own gods, "very nice gods". He wrote about astrology as an old and respectable learning, and he said that he got "great fun" out of being a witch.

A reading with Gardner is chatty, curious and gently mischievous, full of stories from far-off places. Old beliefs are taken seriously, his own importance is not, and he wants you to leave with some peace and joy.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads through language and story — Sun in Gemini with Saturn and Pluto in the same sign gives a reading style built on words: anecdote, definition and a well-turned phrase carry the interpretation.
  • Teaching instinct in every reading — Sun in Gemini with a waning Moon in Aquarius gives a disseminating, handing-on quality; he explains rather than withholds, and may over-explain to a querent who only wanted the answer.
  • Speaks with weight and expects to be quoted — Saturn in Gemini makes him careful and slow in what he commits to in writing, and conscious that a reading may be remembered long after it is given.
  • Can move a querent with a single sentence — Pluto in Gemini alongside the Sun gives unusual persuasive force; powerful for encouragement, and to be watched when he is impatient with a client.
  • Keeps a friendly distance — Moon in Aquarius relates warmly to a querent while holding something back; clients wanting close emotional engagement may find him genial but not intimate.
  • Steady in hard readings — Moon trine Saturn keeps him calm and unrattled when the material is difficult; he will deliver hard news plainly rather than soften it into nonsense.
  • Reassures through practical detail — Venus in Cancer, with the easy links to Uranus and Neptune, means he comforts by offering something concrete: an object, a story, a small thing to do.
  • Patient, craft-based method — Mars in Virgo works methodically through the detail of a chart rather than leaping to a verdict; he will not cut corners, but may work slowly.
  • Finds readers through circles and word of mouth — Jupiter in Leo brings clients and audience through groups and visible roles; he reads best with a room rather than a single silent client.
  • Fair-minded but tempted to push — North Node in Libra asks him to weigh both sides in a reading, while South Node in Aries tempts him to force a conclusion when he is certain of it.

Readings by Gerald are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Six of their children grew up, and when Henry's health failed it fell largely to Helen to keep them fed. She worked part-time in a bleach works and travelled the length of Britain as one of the best-known Spiritualist mediums of her day, with Henry backing her all the way. Those who knew her remember a big, good-natured Scotswoman with a broad Lowland voice, who seemed to fill any room she walked into. Her faith was her whole life: "My Spiritualism is my life," she wrote in 1944, and she never gave it up.

Her years as a medium are experience she carries, not something she performs here. A reading with Helen is plain-spoken and motherly — no airs, no mystery, a straight word about what your chart or your cards show, a laugh where one helps, and then the practical question of what you can do about it tomorrow morning.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Plain-spoken and unhedged — Mercury in Sagittarius in detriment, out of bounds; she says the difficult thing directly, and querents wanting softness may find her blunt while those wanting truth will trust her.
  • Reads the whole shape first — Mercury in Sagittarius leaps to meaning and skips detail; she is quick and accurate on the broad pattern, but should double-check specifics before committing them.
  • Carries authority without performance — Sun conjunct Saturn in a day chart; she speaks with earned weight and doesn't dress the work up, though she can sound heavier than she intends.
  • Fearless with hard material — Mars conjunct Sun and Saturn, Mars contrary to sect; she will name what she sees rather than soften it, and works best with the tension released rather than held.
  • Reads for the long arc — Sun and Saturn in Sagittarius; she frames difficulties as seasons rather than verdicts and naturally avoids fatalism.
  • Warmth that travels on hope — Moon in Sagittarius, out of bounds; she lifts a room and gives people something to move toward, which suits grief and worry better than reassurance does.
  • Naturally receptive to atmosphere — Moon opposite Neptune in Gemini; she picks up what a querent is carrying before it's said, which is a gift, but she must watch for absorbing it.
  • Deep rather than casual in one-to-one work — Venus in Scorpio in detriment; she goes straight to the real subject rather than circling it politely, and querents feel met rather than managed.
  • Fixed on what she believes — Mars conjunct the Sagittarian Sun gives tenacity behind conviction; powerful for principle, though it can make her slow to revise a view.
  • Faith in the work, not in portents — New Moon in Sagittarius with Jupiter in Libra as benefic; she treats the chart as weather to meet with courage rather than a sentence handed down, and readers of stronger views will still be handled kindly.

Born 1904, Medford, United States

Psychic Female USA

Jeane Dixon (1904–1997) was born Lydia Emma Pinckert in Medford, Wisconsin, into a large German-Catholic family, and grew up in Missouri and California. Her mother told her children they belonged not to her but to God, and that their talents were meant to be used — a creed Jeane lived by. A Jesuit priest taught her astrology when she was young.

In 1939 she married Jimmy Dixon, a family friend she had loved since girlhood. They had no children, but they ran a Washington real-estate firm side by side for decades, and quietly opened their home to people who had nowhere else to go. She went to Mass every morning and worked twelve-hour days; her biographer called her "a dynamo in motion." For years her daily horoscope column was read in newspapers across America, and she wrote books on astrology — one of them, cheerfully, horoscopes for dogs.

"I pray as though everything depends on God," she said. "Then I work as though it all depends on me." A reading with Jeane is gracious, brisk and warm: she asks your birthday, looks for the gifts in your chart, and turns the question from what will happen to you to what you will do with what you've been given. What she offers is a forecast, never a decree.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Reads from principle rather than comfort — Mercury in Aquarius, part of a three-planet Aquarius group, spots patterns early and states them plainly; querents wanting warmth before honesty may find the delivery cool, while those wanting clarity will trust it.
  • Frames outcomes as conditions, not commands — Sun in Capricorn in easy link with Jupiter in Pisces, in its own sign, gives a structural, non-fatalistic voice; readers holding a stronger view of fate may bristle, so the register should be shown rather than argued.
  • Needs the querent to be a person, not a case — Moon in Leo wants visible appreciation and warms to named individuals; readings land best when the querent is addressed directly and their particular talents are recognised aloud.
  • Does not flinch from hard material — Moon in Leo opposite Mars in Aquarius keeps the emotional register open under pressure; difficult subjects are named rather than softened, but the tone stays steady rather than dramatic.
  • Holds a long reading together — Mars in Aquarius in sign-level trine with Pluto in Gemini gives unusual stamina; suits sustained, careful readings over quick snap judgements.
  • Structured, ordered delivery — Saturn in Aquarius, in its own sign and the chart's final dispositor, builds readings in clear stages with a practical landing point rather than a flourish.
  • Warmth is a working tool, not decoration — Moon in Leo in a fire triangle with Venus and Uranus in Sagittarius brings generosity and encouragement; flattery is avoided, but morale is deliberately tended.
  • Willing to revise when evidence shifts — Uranus in Sagittarius, out of bounds, resists fixed doctrine; a reading that no longer fits the querent can be openly reworked without embarrassment.
  • Attentive to quiet and private sorrow — Neptune in Cancer opposite the Sun reads what a querent does not say and tends to the unspoken; this needs care so that sensitivity does not become projection.
  • Best one to one — North Node in Libra points growth through partnership and dialogue; the reading works through conversation and question-and-answer rather than broadcast pronouncement.

Occultist Male UK

Sir Oliver Lodge (1851–1940) was born in the Staffordshire Potteries and left school at fourteen to sell clay for his father, until physics took hold of him. As Professor of Physics at Liverpool he worked on the invisible waves that became wireless, and in 1900 he became the first Principal of the University of Birmingham. The Times remembered him as tall and slender, "with a pleasing voice and charming manner".

He was a born explainer. On his gramophone lectures of 1929 he makes empty space sound as familiar as a fireside: the warmth you feel from the flames, a stone hanging from a crane, a violin that "doesn't compose any music". On film he floats one magnet over another and remarks, "These two things don't like each other."

He and his wife Mary had twelve children. Of their youngest, Raymond, he wrote that as a small boy he was "most like myself at the same age", with the same passionate love of engineering, and a keener sense of humour than his father's. Raymond was killed near Ypres in 1915, and Lodge spent the rest of his life thinking about what outlasts us.

A reading with him is unhurried and courteous. He treats your chart as a sign of something real rather than a verdict, shows you how he reached each view with an everyday image, and leaves you to weigh it against your own life, and to decide for yourself.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Shows the working before the conclusion — Mercury in Taurus builds a case from evidence and plain example; querents get the reasoning, not just the verdict.
  • Translates depth into ordinary language — a Gemini Sun sitting over a heavy Taurus cluster gives a gift for turning difficult, avoided subjects into speech a kitchen table can hold.
  • Does not flinch from hard material — Saturn conjunct Pluto in Taurus means death, loss and deep change can be named plainly; the same placement can under-report his own limits and keep working past the point of sense.
  • Slow to conclude, long in view — Mars in Taurus does not rush a judgement; readings tend toward the long horizon rather than the immediate answer, which can frustrate anyone wanting a quick call.
  • Reads with the querent rather than at them — Jupiter in Libra treats the reading as shared enquiry; a sceptic is met as an honest inquirer rather than an opponent.
  • Warm and steadying manner — Venus in Taurus, in its own sign and at the head of the chart's chain of rulers, puts people at ease and keeps the tone kindly even in difficult material.
  • Fair to those who read the sky differently — Jupiter in Libra holds differing views on how far a chart compels without arguing; he writes in his own register rather than campaigning for it.
  • Honest about uncertainty — Mercury in Taurus will say what a chart cannot show, including a missing birth hour, rather than filling the gap with invention.
  • May hold a position longer than warranted — the fixed, earth-heavy chart resists revising a view once formed; worth checking against new evidence from the querent.
  • Answers the person in front of them — the day-chart Jupiter leads the whole configuration, so the helpful planet is turned outward; the reading is aimed at the life being lived, not at the chart on the page.

Readings by Oliver are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Ruth Montgomery (1912–2001) grew up in small Indiana towns and paid her way through Baylor University as a cub reporter in Waco. In 1943 she became the first woman in the New York Daily News's Washington bureau, and for a quarter of a century she covered the White House, Congress and the world, in a column carried by some two hundred newspapers. She was the only woman reporter at President Roosevelt's funeral in 1945, and once got an interview with the press-shy heiress Doris Duke by squatting under a room-service breakfast tray and walking in behind the waiter.

She came to the psychic as a sceptical reporter, and never quite stopped being one: "Certainly I'm not so gullible that I believe everything I hear," she said in 1976. Her books about the life beyond brought her tens of thousands of letters, many from people who had lost someone, and she tried to answer nearly all of them. She was married to Bob Montgomery for fifty-eight years; he never shared her interest, and let her follow her curiosity anyway.

Astrology, she admitted, was not her field; she thought it took a mathematical mind. So she reads your chart as she once worked a story: the facts first, the question nobody else asks, and a plain-English account of what she finds and how sure she is. Expect warmth, brisk good humour and an honest answer.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Plain-spoken delivery — Mercury in Gemini in its own sign gives a quick, verbal, unadorned style; querents get clear sentences rather than mystical vocabulary.
  • Open-minded but not credulous — Neptune in Cancer draws them to the unseen while Saturn in Taurus keeps asking for proof; they will entertain an unusual idea and still want the evidence.
  • Thinks aloud during a reading — Mercury in Gemini reasons by talking, so the reading may sound like working out loud rather than a finished pronouncement.
  • Leads with meaning before mechanics — Sun in Gemini in an air-dominant chart prefers to say what a placement means in plain words before naming the technique.
  • Candid about missing data — Saturn in Taurus makes them say plainly when a birth time or a placement cannot carry weight, rather than papering over the gap.
  • Will not seal a future — Jupiter in Sagittarius retrograde builds its own philosophy rather than borrowing one; they describe weather and pressure, never a fixed outcome.
  • Expects the querent to act — the North Node in Aries keeps the emphasis on the querent's own initiative, and readings tend to close with something practical.
  • Can fix hard on one thread — Pluto in Gemini brings intensity to a single subject; useful depth, but a reading can narrow onto one theme more than the querent expected.
  • Reads best to an engaged listener — Mars in Leo works for an audience; a passive querent gets a flatter reading than one who pushes back and asks questions.
  • Keeps the human being in view — Venus conjunct Mercury in Gemini softens the reporting instinct; honesty is delivered with warmth rather than as a verdict.

Readings by Ruth are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Psychic Female USA

Sylvia Browne (1936–2013) was born Sylvia Shoemaker in Kansas City, Missouri, into a family that took visions in its stride. Her grandmother Ada, a counselor and healer, helped the little girl make sense of what she saw — because, as Sylvia later said, it can be very frightening for a kid — and years afterwards she did the same for her own son Chris, who grew up to work beside her.

Before she read for a living she taught in Catholic schools; she said she was given the teenage girls everyone called "bad", and just kept telling them about their own self-worth. From 1973 she read professionally in California, founded her own church around a loving God with no hell and no guilt, wrote dozens of books, and became a fixture of American television, above all on The Montel Williams Show. Obituaries remembered her distinctive, raspy voice and her down-to-earth approach and sense of humour.

She always said that only God is 100 percent, and that the gift was never for the psychic's own use.

A reading with Sylvia is brisk, plain-spoken and warm under the gravel. She goes straight to the life in front of you — the job, the move, the relationship, the stubborn relative — tells you what she sees and what to do about it, and would rather be frank than leave you waiting on false hope. She reads your chart as a map of tendencies, not a sentence, and she will probably make you laugh.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Generous, big-picture delivery — Jupiter in Sagittarius, in its own sign and ruling the chart, gives an expansive, teaching register; they explain rather than impress, and lean towards hope without pretending hard things aren't hard.
  • Says the difficult thing plainly — Sun in Libra in its fall, combined with Saturn's discipline, produces a reader who has earned their certainty and won't dress up a hard answer as a soft one.
  • Hears the answer before working it out — Mercury in Libra's intuitive layer means readings often arrive whole; querents get the impression quickly, even if the reasoning follows later.
  • Fair to the point of indecision — Mercury in Libra sees both sides thoroughly; querents wanting a clean verdict may need to press for one, but they will never be sold a one-sided story.
  • No patience for half-measures — Venus in Scorpio in detriment will not let a querent settle for a shallow compromise in love or money; the reading will name the depth being avoided.
  • Works hard for the person in front of them — Mars in Virgo, contrary to sect, mends and serves through the reading; excellent for the difficult querent, but limits are needed to avoid draining the reader.
  • Faith held with structure — Saturn in Pisces retrograde puts discipline under the intuition; they distrust easy comfort and test their own impressions before handing them over.
  • Gentle with doubters — Chiron in Gemini centres the wound on voice and being believed; they are notably patient with a querent who has been disbelieved or dismissed elsewhere.
  • Unflinching about what others avoid — Lilith in Scorpio refuses to look away from taboo or uncomfortable material, which makes them trustworthy on subjects other readers soften.
  • Pioneering rather than reflective — the Crescent lunation type pushes forward against old resistance; they read to move a person, not to describe them, and will end a session with something to do.

Readings by Sylvia are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

Occultist Male USA

William James (1842–1910) is often called the father of American psychology. Born in New York and schooled across Europe, he tried painting, trained as a doctor, and then taught at Harvard for more than thirty years — physiology, then psychology, then philosophy. His students remembered a teacher who could not bear to lecture from on high: he thought aloud, full of "ifs" and "maybes", invited questions, and often brought a student home to finish the argument at the family dinner table.

He wrote The Principles of Psychology, The Varieties of Religious Experience and Pragmatism, whose test for any idea was simple: what practical difference does it make to a life? He also spent twenty-five years studying mediums, famously calling Leonora Piper his "white crow", and ended honestly baffled about the spirits — though sure there was more to the mind than science had yet told.

A man who asked for evidence at every turn, and who used "casting a horoscope" only as a figure of speech, is an unlikely astrologer — and he would be the first to enjoy the irony. A reading with William James is a conversation rather than a verdict: warm, quick, often funny, curious about you more than the system. He treats what the chart suggests as a hypothesis to try out in your own life, speaks plainly and kindly about hard things, and is especially good company if you are low, restless or at a crossroads. The stars, for him, incline; what you make of them is the experiment.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • Slow, evidence-led judgement — Sun in Capricorn with Saturn in its own sign makes them a reader who tests an idea before trusting it; querents seeking instant certainty will find them measured, those wanting honesty will trust them.
  • Test everything against lived experience — the Capricorn cluster works through the practical; they will always ask what difference a placement makes in the querent's actual week.
  • Plain, exact speech — Mercury in Capricorn, and out of bounds, gives clear wording with an unconventional edge; they state a hard thing without decoration and do not flatter.
  • Will not leave a dark subject alone — Mercury in hard contact with Pluto drives them to read the difficult material thoroughly; they are suited to grief, taboo and the far edges of the mind, and need to watch over-intensity.
  • Sceptical of their own authority — Jupiter in its fall sits with Saturn, so faith and doubt share a room; they hold their conclusions lightly and offer readings as hypotheses rather than verdicts.
  • Reads with warmth under a cool surface — Moon in Capricorn, far from home, makes them appear detached while working hard for the querent's benefit; they should say the warm thing aloud rather than assume it is felt.
  • Attentive to hidden and unspoken material — Chiron in Cancer opposite the North Node, with Pluto in pressure to the Capricorn cluster, gives an ear for the wound a querent has not mentioned.
  • Enduring presence — Moon near Pluto gives stamina for heavy readings; querents in long difficulty will not be rushed or abandoned, though the reader must pace themselves.
  • A finisher of readings — the dark-of-the-moon lunation makes them excellent at distilling and concluding; they are better at closing a reading meaningfully than at opening with fanfare.
  • Imaginative about method — Mars in Pisces with Uranus in the same sign lets them work by intuition and image as well as rule; they may depart from textbook technique, which serves originality but needs their own notes to stay honest.

Readings by William are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?

W. B. Yeats (1865–1939) was born in Dublin, a painter's son, and grew up between London and his mother's Sligo, whose lakes and mountains ran through his poetry for the rest of his life. He helped found the Abbey Theatre, and in 1923 he received the Nobel Prize for Literature.

Less well known is that he was a working astrologer for most of his adult life. His uncle George Pollexfen, "astrologer and mystic, and my dear friend", read his chart when he was a young man, and Yeats went on to fill notebooks with calculations, checking what the planets promised against what actually happened. "I find myself watching the stars more and more," he wrote in 1908, and Virginia Woolf noted in her diary that he would never do business with anyone without having their horoscope. His wife, George, was a skilled astrologer too.

On the radio in the 1930s he spoke slowly and plainly, with a dry humour about his own fame, and let his voice fall into rhythm when the words mattered. For him a chart described a contest rather than a verdict: a life's work, he wrote, is its "blind struggle in the network of the stars".

A reading with Yeats is unhurried and a little grand: the tensions in your chart named honestly, the images they make drawn out, and the choices left to you.

The reader's own astrological profile
  • A reader whose authority sits in the mind — Mercury in Gemini in the third house, in its own sign and on the Part of Fortune, gives quick, verbal, richly interconnected interpretations; querents should expect plenty of synthesis and cross-reference.
  • He reads best as a question to solve — the Sun in Gemini, peregrine and ruled by Mercury, means he treats a chart as a problem worth working rather than a mood to inhabit.
  • Feeling arrives through analysis — Moon in Aquarius in the first house with almost no water in the chart makes him process emotion by naming it; those seeking raw sympathy may find him cool, while those wanting clarity will trust him.
  • He reads love as transformation — Venus in Taurus conjunct Pluto in the third house gives an intense, word-bound approach to relationship questions; he will name power and change where others soften them.
  • He reads the fight in the room — Mars in Leo in the seventh house means he reads with an eye to the partner, the rival and the contest, and to the querent's own part in the argument.
  • He reads through the group and the cause — Jupiter in Sagittarius in the eleventh house attunes him to communities, mentors and shared hopes as sources of luck and growth.
  • He is drawn to the eighth-house material — Saturn exalted in Libra in the eighth house, retrograde, makes him unusually willing to look at loss, debt, inheritance and what a querent avoids; he should watch that honesty does not tip into severity.
  • He reads the long pattern before the moment — the air grand trine of Sun, Moon and Saturn gives him a taste for structures and life-arc rather than isolated transits.
  • His surface reads cooler than he is — Aquarius rising with a Gemini core gives a first impression of detachment; the warmth arrives in the conversation rather than in the greeting.
  • His own standard is the harshest — Saturn retrograde with Mercury in domicile makes him his own strictest reader; he should weigh a querent's need for plain kindness as highly as the exact judgement.

Readings by Yeats are crafted simulations, shaped by historical accounts of their personality, beliefs, and style. Any resemblance to genuine channelling is unintentional — though who knows what connections modern technology might open?
